Ballasts are the
power packs that are necessary to power these High Intensity
Discharge bulbs. We stock our ballasts from 2 manufacturers,
ECOTECHNICS UK and MAXIGROW both of which comply with European
and British safety regulations.

Reflectors
A Reflectors is
the device used to direct the bulbs light onto the plants. It is
effectively a hood which holds the bulb in place and although
all of our reflectors are of a high quality, the more you pay
the more light you get reflected onto your plants. The top
reflector in our light range is the DIAMOND reflector which has
in tests shown to produce and average light intensity of up to
50% more than inferior designs

Bulbs
HPS - High
pressure sodium. A great all-round grow lamp that can be used
from start to finish. Not as good in vegetative stage as a MH
(metal halide) lamp but better for the flowering stage. Our SYN
AGRI bulbs have an improved colour spectrum to help improve
their performance in the vegetative stage so they are a really
good option for all stages of the grow.
MH - Metal Halide
is rich in blues in its colour spectrum which is great for
vegetative growth but not as good as the HPS bulbs for the
flowering stage.
The ideal
situation is to use a metal halide bulb for the vegetative stage
and then switch over to an HPS bulb for flowering.
